6 Products you can't live without this winter

The winter chill has really begun to set in and there's snow on the mountaintops. This makes for a great ski season, but the news is not so great for your skin. It ultimately equates to tight, flaky, dry and irritated complexions.

As we’re constantly subjected to fluctuations of cold air and heating, our skin is left crying out for nurturing and hydration. To ward off the effects of these environmental factors, your best plan is to keep your skin plump and moisturised throughout the coming months by following a natural skin care routine.

Scrub a dub dub

This is a great time to take shorter showers. As tempting as it feels to have a scalding hot shower, minimise the time you spend in there and turn the temperature to warm. to avoid drying out your skin. Hot water strips away the skin’s natural protective barriers, allowing moisture to be lost. This creates the perfect conditions for dry, raw and irritated skin to take hold. Using products with the best natural skin care ingredients is good for the body and for the planet.

  1. Use a certified organic cream-based cleanser like our Hydrating Cleansing Lotion on your face to remove dirt, makeup and impurities. It’s a chemical free cleanser without any harmful surfactants that have a drying effect on the skin.
  2. To remove dead skin cells and keep your skin moisturised, incorporate our new Bioactive  Body Polish 2–3 times a week. It contains nourishing oils that will delicately coat the skin and keep it hydrated after bathing.

Rehydrate

After bathing, follow up by rehydrating the skin. A non toxic, alcohol free moisturiser will provide maximum nourishment for weather battered skin while creating a protective, moisturising barrier against the bitter winter weather. Our vegan skin care products will give your skin everything it needs to thrive throughout the colder months.

  1. For deep hydration and skin repairing qualities, you can’t go past our Marigold Hydrating Crème. This thick, luscious, golden emollient contains nourishing lashings of shea butter, potent C02 extracts of calendula (which imparts a golden hue), vitamin E and gotu kola. Clients swear by its nourishing and hydrating effects as a cure-all for dry, irritated or sensitive skin.
  2. For a little extra boost to your moisturisers, serums and elixirs add a few drops of our Antioxidant Facial Oil Omega 3-6-9. No matter what your skin type, even those with sensitive skin care needs, this perfect balance of omegas will keep your skin hydrated and glowing. Keep in mind that serums and elixirs are NOT moisturisers and you will need extra hydration in the cooler months, especially in the southern states.
  3. For the body, follow up with our divine Bioactive Body Elixir to nourish, protect and hydrate. It works best if you apply to damp skin. It contains a concentrated synergy of luxurious and exotic oils hand-picked from around the globe that are literally food for your skin.
  4. For your hands and cuticles, keep one of our gorgeous-smelling hand lotions by the sink, one in your car and one in your handbag. The two luscious scents are Wild Mint & Sweet Fennel + Wild Orange & Desert Rose. Every time you wash your hands, remember to moisturise with the best vegan products in Australia.
