Dry skin salvation

If the recent 'Antarctic Vortex' has left your skin feeling horribly dry, don’t despair. We've got a hit list of 5 super-nourishing products for dry skin that will get your skin back to beautiful in no time.

To find out the causes of dry skin and get some tips on what to do and what NOT to do, read this post we published about very dry skin in November 2014.

If you want to fast-forward straight to the Mukti products you need to relieve that tight, dry, scaly look and feel that comes along with cold, dry air, then read on. Each of these products contains 95 - 100% certified organic ingredients:

1. Hydrating Cleansing Lotion

We use certified aloe vera leaf juice as a base for this cleanser and then add super-nourishing emollients like macadamia, cocoa butter, coconut and olive, along with Kakadu plum for its exceptionally high vitamin C content. It also contains the indigenous Australian plant mountain pepper leaf, known for its anti-inflammatory, antioxidant and anti-aging benefits. Finally, it contains shea nut butter, a gentle emollient that soothes and softens the skin.

This lotion was featured in sporteluxe this week as a must have product.

2. Rose Blossom Hydrating Mist Toner

If you could distill the scent of heaven and put it in a convenient spray bottle, this would be it! It smells so lush, many of our customers carry it in their handbags to use as a subtle perfume throughout the day. The rose scent is not sickly or synthetic in any way. It’s the closest thing you’ll get to smelling an actual rose, freshly cut from the garden.

To create our Rose Blossom Hydrating Mist Toner, we start with Bulgarian rose hydrosol as a base, with the addition of certified organic aloe vera leaf juice. We also use a number of Australian indigenous plant extracts: Kakadu plum for its naturally high vitamin C levels; kangaroo paw flower, a potent antioxidant that improves skin hydration; snowflower, another potent antioxidant that acts as an anti-inflammatory; and a proprietary blend of nourishing essential oils.

3. Hydrating Moisturiser

It’s silky. It’s smooth. It smells divine. And it’s just what your face is crying out for after the cold snap. Why’s it so good for dry skin? It contains a base of soothing aloe vera (instead of water, like most skin care products) as well as nourishing shea nut butter and macadamia nut oil which is very similar in composition to the skin's sebum.

The star ingredients are our Australian natives – Kakadu plum, banksia (anti-aging, antioxidant, anti-inflammatory) and flame tree, another anti-aging and antioxidant ingredient that is very hydrating. Add to that a delicious selection of essential oils and you have one very luxurious moisturiser.

4. Antioxidant Facial Oil Omega 3-6-9

This ultra-rich oil is a lifesaver in winter and contains a balanced, synergistic blend of 16 antioxidant oils including chia seed, carrot seed, tamanu and pomegranate. It far exceeds just plain old rosehip oil, the chosen essential fatty acid of the 90's.

Add a few drops of this age-defying omega blend oil underneath your chosen serum or moisturiser and your skin will feel nourished and rejuvenated. We recommend using it a night time in place of a heavy night creme. It also includes a potent, cosmeceutical Australian native extract synergy of Kakadu plum, Davidson's plum and blue cypress seed and mango seed.

5. Marigold Hydrating Crème

This is the cream you need to bring your skin back to life in the middle of winter. It’s thick, it’s luxurious and has a subtle hint of chamomile. It contains a high concentration of marigold (also known as calendula, a healing herb for skin), gotu kola and vitamin E as well as the bioactive native Australian extract of cornflower, which contains amino acid tryptophan, which improves moisture, skin condition and smoothness. It also contains the native Australian extract of willow bark, which is soothing and hydrating.

You can use this crème anywhere – on the face, on dry elbows or cracked heels, on patches of red, inflamed or irritated skin or on your hands to restore moisture and smoothness almost instantly.

If you need a winter life saver our best selling ultimate hydrating collection is value for money and will have your skin hydrated and rejuvenated in no time.

Stay warm and look after yourself over the remaining weeks of winter. If you have a specific question about dry skin, please leave a comment below.
