Get your glow on for Christmas

Glowing skin is always in!

And with the Australian party season upon us, now is the time to pay extra attention to your skin so that you positively glow with good health at all those summer parties, nights out on the town, elegant soirees and beach trips.

Follow our 10 quick tips to get your glow on for Christmas:

1. hydrate 

Your skin won’t look its absolute best if you’re dehydrated. Drink at least two litres of purified water a day and add a squeeze of lemon or lime to keep your system alkaline and add a citrus burst.

2. Cleanse

Double cleanse your skin morning and night to remove dirt, makeup, pollutants and impurities. Use our hydrating cleansing lotion if your skin is normal-dry and our balancing foaming cleanser if your skin is combination-oily.

3. Mist and moisturise

Your skin needs both water and oil to absorb skin care products efficiently. Spritz your face with our hydrating mist toners then follow up with moisturiser while the skin is still damp.

4. Apply a natural sunscreen daily

The sun damages collagen and elastin (as well as emitting cancer causing UV rays) so protect your face even when you’re just going to and from work or it’s a cloudy day. Use our tinted moisturiser with sunscreen (SPF15).

5. Use the correct products

Take our online skin consultation to see which products are best suited to your skin. Using the wrong products for your skin is as bad as using nothing at all.

6. Exfoliate

Exfoliation is necessary to remove the top layer of dead skin cells and renew your complexion. It also helps other skin care products to penetrate more deeply and work more efficiently. Use our gentle 2-in-1 resurfacing exfoliant 2 to 3 times a week in the shower.

7. Don’t neglect your neck and décolletage

Your neck and décolletage can show your age more than your face. Make sure you use all your skin care products on this area, including cleansing, toning, exfoliating, masques and moisturising.

8. limit coffee, dairy and alcohol

Coffee dehydrates the skin so max out on two cups per day. Dairy contains steroid hormones and compounds that may contribute to inflammation and blocked pores. Replace with dairy alternatives or go organic only.? Alcohol also dehydrates the skin, so limit it to 1 to 2 drinks per day and opt for red wine, which contains resveratrol – an antioxidant that assists in combating the effects of ageing.

9. use supplements that target skin

The best supplements to support the structure of your skin and keep it looking young are zinc, vitamin A, vitamin C, calcium silicon, essential fatty acids, CoQ10 and hyaluronic acid.

10. meditate

Stress shows up on your face and is becomes indelibly etched into expression lines and wrinkles. Adopt a daily meditation ritual that brings you back to the present moment and helps you stay calm and centred. By consciously relaxing, your features also relax.
