Save your skin with a summer face mask

natural-organic-masque

This nourishing summer face mask is suitable for all skin types, so you oily girls and guys don’t have to worry about it causing breakouts and the dry-skin peeps can rest assured it won’t leave your face feeling tighter than Michelle Bridges' buttocks.

What does our luscious summer face mask do?

Essentially, it’s an age defying treatment that deeply cleanses and detoxifies the skin, while supplying essential antioxidants, phytonutrients and minerals. It’s beautifully hydrating, improves skin texture and stimulates circulation, while gently exfoliating.

Just use it once or twice a week for 20 minutes and you'll see a very noticeable difference. Your skin will be smoother and brighter with that dewy, highly hydrated look.

It contains more than 20 certified organic ingredients

One of the key ingredients is fine white argiletz clay, which balances oil production and removes dead skin Mukti-masquecells. It also contains a big dose of essential fatty acids in the form of CoEnzyme Q10, pomegranate, tamanu, sea buckthorn berry, chia and carrot oils. These work to counteract the aging effects of free radicals in our environment.

Our summer face mask also contains bioactive native Australian ingredients that are powerful antioxidants. The first is kakadu plum, which contains the world's highest concentration of nutrient-available vitamin C – a free radical scavenger that protects the skin from environmental harm. When applied topically, it restores the skin's antioxidant defence system, protecting the dermis from degradation and stimulates pro-collagen 1 and hyaluronic acid to help reduce wrinkles, improve skin texture and protect against UV related damage.

The second key native Australian ingredient is banksia, which contains ellagic acid that reduces inflammation and the breakdown of collagen by encouraging elasticity and suppleness in aging skin. It's a strong antioxidant and anti-inflammatory that stabilises vitamin C.

Silky oil grass is another powerful antioxidant that protects the skin and strengthens capillaries. It reduces the breakdown of collagen and elastin due to inflammation.

To give the mask exfoliating properties, we've added papaya, which contains exfoliating enzymes.

There is also a little extra surprise. It contains jojoba bead esters that melt into the skin and offer extra hydration. Unlike most clay masques, these spherical beads create a gentle exfoliation and keep the masque moist. After the masque has been applied for 10-15 minutes gently massage the beads into your skin until they melt then leave the masque on for another 5 minutes or so prior to removal.

I spent a lot of time perfecting this summer face mask so that it would be a real pampering treat to use over the summer months, and beyond. All the ingredients work together to enhance moisture absorption and prevent dehydrated looking skin (noticed how dehydrating alcohol is on your skin during the summer party months?).

So if you'd love a visibly fresher, brighter complexion this summer, give it a try. It's a quick way to make a big difference to your skin. As with all our products, it’s vegan, nut, gluten, wheat and palm oil free.

It’s only been available for a couple of months but already we’re getting some great feedback, such as this lovely testimonial from 18-year-old Ann:

"I had the opportunity to try a sample of Mukti Organics brand new masque and wow!  It is sensational, so gentle to my sensitive skin but beautifully effective in boosting my cleansing routine. The fragrance is clean and fresh...rain forest is how I would describe the smell. This masque is like nothing I have used before, creamy with little rounded beads that really went to work as I massaged it into my skin, after 10 minutes or so...time to rinse, I just wanted to keep rolling those little beads over my skin enjoying the sensation of super clean yet calmed and hydrated. I am counting the days until I can add the full sized product to the rest of my Mukti organics 'wardrobe' of skin care. Great for travel, it doubles as a masque and also a very gentle exfoliant. Thank you Mukti...skin care as it should be..caring for skin."

What do you do to give your face extra nourishing and protection over the summer months?

How to Decode a Skincare Label – Lesson 1

A few years ago, I began working on a resource manual to simplify the process of making the switch from conventional skincare to 'alternative', aka natural and organic skin care products. I naively thought it would be a simple project – a how-to manual consisting of a few pages, or perha...
