Your own Mukti mandala

Every year at the Woodford Folk Festival, Buddhist monks spend a week painstakingly creating a huge mandala out of coloured powder, only to blow it away at the end of the festival. It's a powerful reminder of the impermanence of life and the importance of keeping our awareness in the present moment. The past is the past, those things you worry about in the future don't even exist.
All that really exists, is the NOW.
The Woodford Folk Festival site is a 20-minute drive down the road from our Maleny HQ, the place where I dream up and create all of our organic skin care products. It was one of the first places I sold my organic skincare products in the early days, and I’ve gone almost every year to the festival either as a punter or a speaker. I love to go and see the monks working on their new mandala each year.
It’s not always easy to be in the now, to forget about past hurts and avoid worrying about future concerns, but I believe it’s the true path to happiness.
That's why I decided to incorporate mandalas into our new packaging. I think they look striking, but there’s more to it than that. When you get caught up in the daily grind, when you forget to earth yourself in the present moment and experience it fully, when you let your mind get away from you with negative, self-defeating thought patterns, a mandala can help bring you back to the now.
The circular symbol of the mandala is used in both Buddhism and Hinduism to represent the universe. Mandalas represent wholeness, a close connection to nature and our innate relationship to the infinity of the cosmos, which extends beyond the mind and the body.
Yes, we must take good care of our bodies, the temples that house our minds and our spirits. But we can’t forget to nurture our deeper selves if we want long lasting peace and happiness.
Many of our clients have commented on the mandalas we’ve used on our new packaging and requested we make them available in a larger medium. So we’ve decided to offer them on canvas prints. The dimensions are 40 cm X 40 cm, perfect to hang above your desk at work, in your bedroom, or in an area where you practice yoga, meditation or another spiritual practice.
They are available by pre-order only for $57.00 and will take up to two weeks for delivery.
