2000: Where It All Began

Mukti Botanicals was born as a home-based business on the Sunshine Coast, with products handcrafted and sold at the iconic Eumundi Markets. Guided by a clear purpose to create skincare that is clean, conscious, and grounded in nature, Mukti set out to redefine what beauty could look like in Australia.

Our very first product? A whipped Macadamia & Honey Lip Balm.

2003: All Hands On Deck

A single mum in the early days of running a business meant all hands on deck: a completely homegrown business with Mukti’s daughters helping pack products.

2004: A Hero is Born

The launch of Marigold Hydrating Crème (originally named Calendula Crème) and over two decades later, it remains our longest-standing product and #1 best-seller – a multi-tasking moisturiser loved for its ability to calm, restore, and deeply hydrate even the most dry and sensitive skin.

2006: Moved Into First Factory & Showroom

A milestone that felt so significant for Mukti: the business moved from her home, into a new factory and showroom in Maleny, Qld.

2006: Organic Certification & First Award

We gained Certified Organic Accreditation (one of the first in the country) and were recognised with the Queensland Small Business Export Award.

2007: Expanding Overseas

Our vision started to spread beyond Australian shores, with exports expanding to the United Kingdom, Singapore, Malaysia and South Korea, marking the start of a growing international community.

Many of our partners from this time are still with us today.

2013: First Brand to Incorporate Native Australian Extracts

We became the first Australian brand to incorporate native Australian Extracts into our formulations, a proud celebration of our local biodiversity and its powerful skin benefits.

This has remained a core pillar of our business and formulation philosophy.

2014: Pioneering Age-Defying Skincare

Years before peptides became the industry’s obsession, Mukti launched her Age Defiance Collection (originally called Age Defence Collection) – a breakthrough range formulated with clinically proven peptides and bioactives to visibly firm, smooth, and rejuvenate the skin. It marked a bold step forward in natural cosmeceuticals – and a defining moment in our commitment to results without compromise.

2016: New Look & Glass Packaging

We introduced biophotonic Miron violet glass to protect and preserve our formulations, and rebranded as Mukti Naturally Organic Skincare, complete with on-trend mandalas.

A short-lived but memorable chapter in our brand’s evolution.

2016-18: A New Era of Vitamins

We introduced our Vitamin Boosters – a trilogy of high-performance elixirs designed to complement the Age Defiance range.

Each formula delivered potent vitamins (A, B, and C) in a certified organic base, free from unnecessary fillers and fortified with native Australian extracts.

At a time when clean, active serums were rare, these boosters redefined what modern, results-driven skincare could look like.

2018: First Edition of 'Truth in Beauty' is Published

The first edition of Truth in Beauty, Mukti’s bestselling book, is published – reflecting her ongoing commitment to empowering customers with the knowledge to make informed, conscious decisions about their skin health.

2018: COSMOS Certified & Brand Refresh

Our formulations gained COSMOS Certification via ACO – one of the most rigorous global benchmarks for organic beauty products.

We also rebranded to Mukti Organics with our now-signature black-and-white packaging, botanical illustrations, and a simplified logo that reflects our values of purity and purpose.

2021: A New Home, Built by Us

After two decades in Maleny, we relocated the business to our custom-built headquarters and manufacturing facility in Mullumbimby, NSW; a move that cemented our independence and control over every step of our process, and commitment to sustainability.

2022: The Queen Arrives

After years in the making, the launch of Queen of the Night Crème was a truly defining moment. With rich, regenerative ingredients, luxurious texture, and unparalleled results, it quickly became a customer favourite and industry icon.

2024: Second Edition of Truth in Beauty

Truth in Beauty was re-released in an expanded second edition – a reflection of our continued commitment to research, transparency, and education.

2024: Winner of Best Skincare Brand AU & NZ

2025: Redefining Body Care

Celebrating 25 years of Mukti Organics with the debut of a product that redefined body care, selling out 8 hours after launch.

The Age Defiance Body Serum was years in the making: a facial-grade formula for the body featuring 37 high-performance actives.
