I read this book like a novel, now have it as a text book- constantly referencing back.
I find it of great practical use, particularly when citing chemicals in products.
The main issue I was having before gaining the knowledge from this book, was being overwhelmed by chemical names & how to read them. Now I know what to avoid, why I should be avoiding them & how to substitute with alternative options.
At the back of the book gives resource details to different places to source products & info, which I value. But throughout the whole book it references to, ‘less is more’. For a beauty company to be telling this to us, is so refreshing. It is an empowering book- I don’t feel the need to go out & purchase products but I also don’t feel guilty about wanting to look after myself & invest in quality. It has a great balance, which makes you feel the importance in taking pride in how you carry & nurture yourself but in such a way that doesn’t detriment others. I want to now only ever invest in honest, ethical, caring brands.
Before reading this book I had kept trying to slowly cut out products but then when in a rush I would go back to those old ways, not understanding the bigger picture and what I was contributing to.
I’ve wanted to for years, be able to understand what I’m buying, and not be sucked into marketing plows which pretend to be friendly to the environment, animal & people. I now have the confidence to go about this new refreshing lifestyle in a smart way & know there…
